NINE, a new sculpture exhibition at La Causa
'Nine' is composed of a series of ceramic pieces crafted through a meticulous artisanal production process. Alternating between the natural texture of ceramic bisque and white or gold glazes , Julieta Álvarez has created a selection of pieces of different sizes and structures. The sculptural ensemble forms a family of asymmetrical, deformed, imperfect figures .
Ceramics, explains Julieta Álvarez, is a living material, a changing material that transforms and must be understood at every moment. “ Working with ceramics is a process of constant research and experimentation . Everything I do is a kind of conclusion, a way of doing things that is different from the previous one. The object speaks of that intermediate process,” she asserts.

The exhibition is accompanied by a series of analog photographs by Pol Mestres , which portray the formal search during the creative process. Black and white photographs in which the volumes, supported by light, blur to reveal the eroticism of the organic form.
